FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dr. Youssef Mosallam Named Superintendent of the Year at National Association of School Superintendents Conference
Newport Beach, California – September 18, 2024 — In a gathering of the nation’s top educational leaders, Dr. Youssef Mosallam, Superintendent of Crestwood School District in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, was honored as the 2024 Superintendent of the Year at the prestigious National Association of School Superintendents (NASS) Annual Conference. Dr. Mosallam was selected out of 21 finalists for his transformative leadership, innovative approach to education, and unwavering commitment to fostering collaboration across the Crestwood community.
This award, one of the highest honors in the field of educational leadership, and with the support of the board of education, recognizes Dr. Mosallam's dedication to ensuring that Crestwood School District serves as a model of excellence. His forward-thinking strategies have brought groundbreaking improvements to the district, placing students, teachers, and families at the heart of every decision.
Dr. Mosallam's passion for his district’s success was evident in his remarks as he accepted the award:
"This recognition is not something I alone could have accomplished. Crestwood’s transformation is rooted in the foundation laid by our schools, the strength of our teachers, and the support of our families. Every day, our team work tirelessly to ensure that every single student matters. Our students are resilient, and their grit drives our success. While we may be a small district compared to others represented here tonight, our impact is anything but small. This award is a testament to our community’s hard work and belief in the future."
Dr. Mosallam has always aspired for Crestwood to be the premier and “lighthouse” district in Michigan, a goal he has reached by centering his work around the belief that change is built on the foundation of strong schools and dedicated teachers. His focus on empowering educators, engaging parents, and creating opportunities for every student has led to a culture of collaboration and high achievement within Crestwood.
As the 2024 Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Mosallam will now serve as an ambassador for NASS, inspiring other educational leaders nationwide to foster community-driven approaches to education.
The Crestwood School District, under Dr. Mosallam’s leadership, continues to shine as an example of what can be achieved through teamwork, vision, and an unyielding commitment to student success.
