We want to remind our families of our procedures for calling a snow and/or cold day.

How We Decide:

1. Night Before: When heavy snow or wind chills below -20°F are forecasted, Wayne County Superintendents meet to coordinate and discuss possible snow days.

2. Morning Of (if no decision was made earlier):

a. A County Superintendent meeting occurs at 5:00 AM.

b. Maintenance teams report road and school conditions (electricity, heat, water).

c. Transportation updates us on bus service and road accessibility.

d. Wind chill temperatures are reviewed.

How We Notify You: If school is canceled, we will share updates through multiple channels:

1. CSD App - Search "Crestwood Schools Dearborn Heights, MI" in your app store to download. Download Our App

2. Local TV stations - Channels 2, 4, and 7 will list closures.

3. Website - Visit csdmi.org for updates.

This new "Alliance" consists of WJBK-TV (FOX 2), WDIV-TV (Local 4), WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), WWJ-TV (CBS Detroit), WKBD-TV (CW50), WWJ Newsradio 950 and News/Talk WJR-AM 760. These major local news outlets have joined forces to form a new school closings partnership to better serve our schools and our communities. Closing announcements from this combined system will be broadcast on all key local TV and Radio news stations along with relevant websites within minutes.
