The Crestwood School District Lauds the Success of Riverside Middle School’s Clothes Closet Initiative Crestwood Schools District applauds the outstanding efforts made by Riverside Middle School (RMS) in running a successful Clothes Closet this past academic year. Spearheaded by RMS Liasion Fadia Jacobs, the program served as a beacon of support for students and families in need within the Crestwood community. The Clothes Closet, which initially started as a modest initiative, soon became a lifeline for many within the district. Not only did it provide clothes, but it also supplied essential items such as personal hygiene products and other much-needed supplies. Thanks to the selfless donations from community members, the Clothes Closet was able to reach a remarkable number of beneficiaries. At the end of the school year, Jacobs sent out an email to the community expressing her gratitude. “I would like to thank everyone who supported and donated to the closet this year! It was a success, and we were able to help many students,” she wrote. As the RMS Liasion, Jacobs played a crucial role in identifying students who were in need and ensured they received the necessary items. Jacobs remains committed to the initiative, urging anyone aware of a child in need to reach out to her. The Crestwood Schools District is immensely proud of the impact the Clothes Closet has had on the community and wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to Jacobs and all who have supported this noble cause. This initiative stands as a testament to the spirit of kindness and support within the Crestwood community. As we prepare for the next academic year, let us continue supporting the Clothes Closet initiative. Donations of clothes, hygiene products, or other items are always welcome and go a long way in supporting our students and their families. For anyone who wishes to donate or flag a child in need, Jacobs can be reached at 313-274-3359. With every piece of clothing or item donated, we move a step closer to ensuring every child in our community can focus on what’s most important – their education.

Happy Easter!
Crestwood School District is thrilled to announce that Hillcrest Elementary School's first grade teacher, Mrs. Dana Kronk, has been honored as the Detroit Red Wings Teacher of the Year! The Detroit Red Wings Teacher of the Month program, presented by Burns and Wilcox, was established to express gratitude and appreciation for Michigan teachers and educators. Mrs. Dana Kronk was one of six finalists for the Detroit Red Wings Teacher of the Year, a title that comes with a $5,000 prize and a virtual meet and greet with a Red Wings player. Dr. Youssef Mosallam, Superintendent of Schools, shared his pride and gratitude for Mrs. Kronk's achievements: "It is an honor and a privilege to be part of the Crestwood School Team with teachers like Mrs. Kronk. Mrs. Kronk epitomizes our mission and our vision as a school district. We thank the Detroit Red Wings for this honor and recognition. And we thank Mrs. Kronk for all she does." Nassrine Saad, Principal of Hillcrest Elementary, expressed her delight for Mrs. Kronk's esteemed recognition: "We are overjoyed by this esteemed recognition, and we wholeheartedly embrace the feelings expressed by every student, staff member, and family in our Hillcrest community. Mrs. Kronk's unwavering dedication to nurturing not only the academic growth but also the emotional well-being of her students truly sets her apart. We are immensely grateful to have such a remarkable teacher whose impact on the lives of her students and their families is truly transformative." Mrs. Dana Kronk shared her heartfelt appreciation: "I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this prestigious Teacher of the Year award. My passion for my students is what drives me every day, and it's their enthusiasm and curiosity that make teaching such a rewarding experience. I could not have achieved this without the unwavering love and support from my family, who have always encouraged me to pursue my dreams. But most of all, it is my precious kiddos, who are my greatest motivation and inspiration, who remind me that in their eyes, we are all winners. Together, we will continue to make a difference in their lives and help them soar to new heights."
